It’s been so long since I wrote a ‘Mommy & Me’ post and though I feel like I’ve been taking tons of pictures during our beach toad trip, I couldn’t find very many of just me and the boys. I need to take more of those. We’ve been gone six days on a summer beach trip and have five more days before we head home. It’s been super fun and relaxing and we’ve gotten to see both sides of the family, so that’s been really special.
When we were in N. Myrtle with my husband’s side of the family, we went to this attraction called Alligator Adventure. It was seriously cool, but they had more alligators, crocodiles and snakes that I care to count. The boys absolutely loved it. We stayed three hours. During the feedings, the crocodiles would literally jump out of the water to grab raw meat. Below is a picture of the fam when we were waiting for the reptile show to start.
The boys are beach bums, especially our six-year old. The weather was sunny and hot every day when we were in N. Myrtle so we would set up the umbrellas and stay out ALL day, alternating between playing in the sun and relaxing in the shade of the umbrellas. We would have to pull Brooks off the beach each evening. I think he would have spent the night on the beach if he could have.
Now that we’re in Charleston, he’s the same way. He loves looking for seashells, digging in the sand, boogie boarding, jumping waves, going out deep in the water with Dad. Yesterday, he flew a massive kite with my brother-in-law, and he loved that too. Case, our three-year old, loves staying out for a couple of hours then he gets a little grumpy and needs a nap.
In fact, traveling and being at the beach has completely tuckered out our little one. He was trying to wean from naps when we were home this summer, but during this trip, he’s had a pretty easy time falling asleep during the day. There’s something about sun, sea and salt air that wears out the body and leads to deep sleep for all of us.

Looks like a fun time! Hoping that sun, sand & water leads to some great naps with my daughter & nephew when we take a family trip in a few weeks.

What a great time! Okay, minus the jumping crocs for meat. And, that sweet napping boy!
My favorite is the family picture, though! Those are almost as elusive at mommy and me pictures!
