THANK YOU TO WINNER HYUNDAI FOR COLLABORATING ON THIS PROJECT! WHILE I WAS COMPENSATED FOR MY TIME, THE GOAL OF THIS POST IS TO ASSIST TRAVELERS WHO HIT THE ROAD DURING THIS BEAUTIFUL TIME OF YEAR.
Fall is my favorite time of year. I was born in October. Since birth, this season has been special to me. The varied weather welcomes both indoor and outdoor fun and also allows us girls to pull leggings, boots and cardigans from the depths of our closets. As for activities, you can’t go wrong with pumpkin carving, apple picking, leaf looking, hiking, going to Halloween festivities, baking cookies, prepping for the holidays and so on and so forth.
Furthermore, fall is also a wonderful time to travel. With gorgeous foliage and mild weather, it’s both relaxing and scenic. It’s an especially great season for road travel when views are vibrant with color and the threat of treacherous winter weather is low. If you plan to travel this month or next, follow these few tips and you’ll be good to go.
1). Know the area before you arrive: Fall is a popular time of year for fairs and festivals. No matter where you’re traveling, take a look at the calendar beforehand and take advantage of events in the area.
2). Be careful of wildlife: Americans love leaf looking, but sometimes this can take folks into wooded areas or off-road paths. If you’re searching for the best views of leaves, be careful not to run into dangerous wildlife.
3). Take a piece of nature with you: Leaf collecting is a fun fall pastime, especially for children. Wherever you are, take a nature walk and collect an array of leaves. You can even take it a step further and create a leaf book when you get home.
4). Do some holiday shopping: Fall is an integral time for holiday shopping. The weather is perfect for strolling down Main Streets and perusing local stores and boutiques. You’ll be happy with yourself when Christmas rolls around and you’ve already bought several gifts.
5). Be safe: As with all trips, be sure to perform routine maintenance on your vehicle before hitting the road, and to make sure you have emergency supplies, dry food and extra water. You never know what predicament you could get into.
6). Have fun: The final and most important tip is to have fun. You’ve planned your getaway, you’ve researched your destination and now, it’s time to enjoy yourself and make some memories.
No matter the destination, I’ve always been a person who loves a great road trip. And now, I’m raising two boys who love doing the same. Whether you’re traveling in the fall or another season, I hope you have a wonderful time!
