Vacation planning sounds fun in theory, but who really has time to sit down and plan an entire getaway? I know I don’t. One of my primary goals with this blog is to offer helpful advice on the topic of travel.
I’m excited to partner with Amanda Henderson from Time to Travel. Not only is she a friend of mine, but she is brilliant when it comes to planning vacations. She specializes in Disney planning but offers many other destinations as well. So that my readers can learn more about Amanda, she and I recently sat down for a Q&A. Take a look!
Q). Tell us about yourself
A). I’m a native of Haywood County, North Carolina. I’ve been married to my husband, Andrew, for 15 years and we have two boys. Jacob is eleven-years old and Jonathan is four-years old. I attended Meredith College for undergraduate and Western Carolina University for graduate school. I hold degrees in psychology, elementary education and school administration. Along with planning trips for my awesome clients and teaching preschool classes at Western Carolina, I’m a homeschooling mom and love spending time with my family.
I absolutely love to travel. I grew up traveling with my family to places like Montana. A piece of my heart is out west because of the beauty and fond memories of that region. I now get to create new memories with my husband and boys as we visit the west and many other locations. Disney Destinations are, of course, at the top of the list. Disney parks and the Disney cruises are equally magical for my family.
Q). Tell me about your professional life before you started working with Time to Travel.
A). When I was in high school, I worked during summers and on weekends at the Haywood County Chamber of Commerce. Looking back, I think that’s really cool because I had no clue I would be owning a travel agency and working in the tourism industry.
Before delving into travel planning, I worked with our local school system as a kindergarten teacher. I also taught and still teach online courses at Western Carolina University.
Q). What is Time to Travel all about?
A). We are a full service travel agency that specializes in Disney destinations, all-inclusive resorts and cruises. Our travel agency’s knowledge of Disney products has earned us the distinction of being named an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner. We were given this special designation by Disney as a result of our agency’s ongoing focus and commitment to planning customized magical trips to the Disney Parks, Disney Cruise Line® and other Disney vacation destinations worldwide. If you’re interested in destinations other than Disney, we’re also certified Sandals specialists and well-versed in numerous other destinations as well.
Our purpose is to help busy families save time and money as we plan and book their vacations. We promise to provide excellent service, resulting in seamless and stress-free vacation experiences. Our clients mean the world to us, so we want to exceed expectations. Our goal is for clients to return again and again and to refer us to friends. We work really hard to customize an experience that will be unique to each family. As we like to say, “We make the plans, you make the memories.”
Q). What do you enjoy most about your job?
A). I enjoy helping families make their vacation dreams come true! I love the relationships and connections that are made with our clients. We become like family. For example, I will book a honeymoon for a couple and a year later they will call me to book their one year anniversary vacation. A few years later when they have kids, they’ll call to book a family vacation. It’s like I get to go through life with my clients, and that creates a special bond.
Q). If someone wants to book a trip with you, how do they get started?
