Today’s world is a beast, and as parents, we have to be vigilant about the safety of our children.
My mom always talks about when my sister and I were little and she put is in little carriers that weren’t attached to the car or we sat in the back seat without a booster by age 2 and we sat up front by age 4 and so on and so forth. But she also points out that there wasn’t as much traffic back then and there was much less interstate travel where cars are moving at extremely high speeds.
These days, it’s a must that children are safe and secure in vehicles. During the holiday season, highways and expressways are busier than ever, so now is a a great time to learn about car seat safety or refresh your knowledge on the topic.
This past Saturday, I was invited to attend a car seat safety event at Four Seasons Ford in Hendersonville, NC. My mom came along and not only did the four of us have a fun time, but we learned a lot about ensuring car seats and booster seats are installed safely and correctly. Within this post, I offer you tips for car seat safety as well as several helpful infographics and checklists.
The team at Four Seasons Ford and members of the Hendersonville Fire Department shared a lot of important information (see the infographics below) about car seat and booster seat safety. The firefighters were also on hand to check car seats on site. A number of cars pulled through to have their car seats checked.
I remember having no idea how to install a car seat when our first son was born. We visited the local fire department to ensure the seat was installed in the right way. So if you are about to be a parent, be sure you do the same before you take your bundle of joy home from the hospital.

It was so refreshing to spend the day at Four Season’s Ford. Everyone at the dealership was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They made sure we were all happy and enjoying ourselves. The dealership was renovated in 2012 and is absolutely beautiful. They even have a children’s play area and Starbucks coffee for individuals as they are waiting or perusing the selection of vehicles. For the event, the local radio station was present and the firefighters were so nice to let the children look inside and learn about the fire engines.
In regard to car seats and booster seats, the folks at Four Seasons gave me two checklists that can be very helpful. If you click on the PDF documents below, you can access them.
If you live in the South East or even if you don’t, consider visiting Four Seasons Ford when purchasing a car. The business is located at 601 Duncan Hill Road, Hendersonville, NC, 28793. You can also stay connected with them via social media on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. They are truly a family-owned, community-driven dealership, and I assure you they will take good care of you.
And when it comes to car seats, be sure yours is installed correctly. There is nothing more important than protecting our precious cargo.
While I was compensated for attending this event and writing this blog post, opinions are 100% my own.
