Homemade Balsamic Vinaigrette

I’ve never tasted a bottled balsamic vinaigrette as tasty as a homemade version. Throughout college and graduate school, I worked at several high-end restaurants who made all of their dressings in house. I got hooked on freshly-made dressings from that point on. The homemade balsamic was often my favorite. I don’t make it nearly enough but when I do, I am reminded just how delicious it is. And it’s so easy to make! Not only is this classic dressing great on salads, it also works as a marinade or to pour over veggies when roasting them.

Store it in the fridge in a Mason jar and just shake it up when you’re ready to use it. I like making it in small batches because I’m the only one in my house who loves it, but you can double the recipe if you have a house full of people who enjoy balsamic vinaigrette. This recipe fills up one small Mason jar.

This homemade balsamic vinaigrette is made with simple but healthy ingredients, most of which you should already have in your cupboards. Ensure the garlic is fresh. Also, for the mustard and the honey, I use Annie’s Organic Dijon mustard and local, raw honey.

If you like balsamic vinaigrette, I think you will like this dressing as much as I do. It’s truly mouthwatering, I’m telling you. Once you taste this homemade version, you will boycott the bottle kind. Enjoy!

This looks so simple. I’ve never been a huge balsamic fan, but over the last few months it’s grown on me – usually because it is one of the healthier options! But even better to know what’s in it!

I am really looking forward to trying this. I have been cutting down on sugar the last few weeks and I was shocked by the amount of sugar in bottled salad dressings! This sounds healthy AND delicious 🙂 Thanks!
