5 Thoughts from the Week
1). I have been so sick this week, yet I have had to plow forth. Isn’t that how it is with Mom? My poor little boys have been very confused at my sluggish demeanor and grumpy attitude. I have a terrible chest cold that makes it hard to talk and expend very much energy. I’m ready to feel better! Of course to feel better, I probably need to slow down…
2). So I am currently on two PTA boards right now. I’m the co-vice president of the PTA at our little boy’s elementary school, and I’m the secretary/faculty liaison for the PTA at the school where I work part-time. This week has been full of PTA activities at both schools and I have to say, I really enjoy it. People always look at me and say, “You do too much. You need to take something off your plate.” But honestly, this is just how I’ve always been. It’s just who I am and I’ve come to appreciate and embrace it.
3). We decorated for fall/Halloween this week. I would have waited a bit longer, but the boys weren’t having it. They were seeing decorations popping up all over town and they wanted ours up. It also gave me a reason to dust everything before we put decorations out. So now we have a clean and festive house and I am loving it.
4). I haven’t worked out in a week, but I haven’t had time and I’ve been sick so I guess I don’t need to beat myself up too much. I also haven’t eaten very much because I haven’t felt very well so maybe it all evened out. Frankly, I’m just ready for a new week where I feel 100% and can get back into my workout regimen. I miss my workout buddies and my relaxing runs.
5). I’m really excited about the weekend. My husband grew up making cider with this grandpa so he bought his own old-fashioned cider press before we got married. We make apple cider every year and it’s such a fun kickoff to fall. Saturday, we’re headed to the regional farmer’s market to buy apples in bulk then back home to make tons of fresh cider. We’ve got some friends going with us so it should be a great time. Hope you have some fun weekend plans as well. Happy Friday!

Brooks’s super cute All About Me Tee poster he made for Open House this week. I love that “home” is his favorite place to go. We even beat out Dollywood!

Case had his very first field trip. His preschool directors braved it and took all the students age three and up to Barber’s Orchard. They all did so well. We were all super proud of them!

Last night was restaurant night at Burger King for our little boy’s elementary school. A portion of the sales go to our PTA for books and technology.
