Happy Friday, everyone! This week has seemed long and short at the same time. While a lot has happened, it has certainly flown by.

1). It makes me a little nervous that it’s December 4, and I have not even remotely finished my Christmas shopping. But then again, I think I feel like this every year and somehow it all works out.
2). My neck is still hurting from the wreck I had a couple of weeks ago. I went to a massage therapist which helped tremendously, but it’s still annoying me. A painful neck is not conducive to working on the computer a lot. Ugh.
3). One of my closest friends in the world is coming into town briefly this weekend. We were inseparable in graduate school and have remained close throughout the years. She lives in New York with her husband so I don’t see her nearly enough. I will only get to hang out for a little while this evening, but I can’t wait!
4). Yesterday it finally felt like winter and that helped me get into the Christmas spirit. We haven’t gotten our tree because our Thanksgiving week was absolutely jammed with activity, but we did pack up all of our fall directions last night. We were getting playfully harassed by our Elf on the Shelf, Frisbee, about not having any red and green in our house, so even though we don’t have our tree, we at least have some other Christmas decorations out.
5). Have any of you ever heard of the Bullet Journal system. My friend and colleague, Melanie Williams, told me about it. She and I both love journals, note taking, making lists, planning, jotting down quotes, etc. and this system appears to streamline all of that and make goal setting/achieving much more successful. She and I both ordered the journal they suggest. I’ll keep you posted on how it’s going. I’m super excited about it. I know. I’m a dork.

This was my plate at Thanksgiving #2 (hosted at our house last Saturday). I’ve always heard that a colorful plate is a healthy plate. This plate was healthy and super delish!

My sister gave this little bear to Brooks. She snapped this sweet little photo last week. Her name is Savannah and the bear’s name is Savannah (it’s on her tag). Brooks adores this bear so much; it’s one of his “lovies” that he sleeps with at night. You can’t tell quite as much in the picture, but the bear is super worn, a little dirty, but very loved.

So we got to spend the week with these two gorgeous ladies! This is my sister and five-month-old niece, Maddie. I already miss them and can’t wait for them to come back later this month.

This kid has become a Monopoly pro over the past couple of months. Not Junior Monopoly, by the way. The real Monopoly. He started playing at my parents’ house with the two of them and my sister when she was home last time. We played again over Thanksgiving. The game spanned two days. He beat the socks off everyone.

Our smalltown movie theater is showing this foreign film right now. Set in post WWII Germany, it’s simply heartbreaking and captivating at the same time. If you get the chance, you must watch it. So amazing.
