Happy Friday, everyone! Whew, this week has flown by. I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to relax some over the weekend and reboot. I hope you’ve had a good week. Below I offer five thoughts and photos from mine. Like I’ve said before, this is a fun activity to do even if you just do it in your own mind or in conversation with a friend or loved one.
5 Thoughts
1). Last weekend was the boys’ birthday weekend. Every year I get a little stressed about everything going as planned, then every year I’m sad when it’s over. My heart aches each time their age clicks another year older. Time, please slow down.
2). My swim stroke is finally feeling fluid and I love it. A friend of mine who was a mentor to me when I was teaching and who is a former swim coach and an avid, skilled swimmer offers personal lessons to adults who are training for triathlons. I’m starting lessons with her Monday, and I’m super excited. Not only can she teach me things but it will give us time to catch up and reconnect.
3). On Wednesday, I went snowboarding for the second time this season. Brooks is participating in an after school snowboarding camp so while he learns and polishes his skills, I hit the slopes. This week was especially fun because he was on a training slope directly under the chair lift so every time I rode up, I could see my little cutie down below.
4). There have been a few sunny days this week and it’s been so lovely. After all of the ice, snow and freezing temperatures last week, 45 degrees feels like a heat wave and a little sunshine on my face has been so rejuvenating. I’m trying to sink into these cold months but admittedly, I’m looking forward to spring.
5). I’ve been hearing a lot of great things about the Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks movie called The Post. I may go to the movies this weekend. It’s been a very long time since I’ve seen an adult movie at the theater so I’m hoping it happens.
