Fresh Express Salad

Fresh Express Salad review. A delicious line of lettuces and salad mixes for everyone's taste. #fressexpresssalad @zealousmom.com

Salads may be my favorite food. Though junk food consumption and production appears to have been on the rise over the past two decades, it also seems like salads have become more popular. As a child, the only time I remember eating a salad was on steak night. My dad would grill out steaks, and we would bake potatoes and eat a traditional iceberg lettuce salad with ranch.

Over the years, I’ve tried hundreds of different salads at home, in restaurants, and abroad. I ate them almost every day for lunch when I was pregnant, which significantly helped with monitoring weight gain during pregnancy. Currently I eat them all throughout the week and love changing up the ingredients and dressings.

When Fresh Express Salad asked me to review their products, I did not hesitate. My entire family and I have been using Fresh Express Salad products for a very long time. I love that their products are thoroughly washed, rinsed, gently dried, then sealed for freshness. Products run between $2 and $4 a bag, and if you eat only organic, they have an organic line as well.

My sister introduced me to sweet butter lettuce. This type of lettuce is slightly sweet, flavorful, and the perfect size for a bite. This is my favorite type to use for everyday salads such as the one below. Brooks, my five-year old, has finally started eating salads, and he loves sweet butter lettuce.

My other favorite product from Fresh Express Salad is spinach. Whether I mix it with other lettuce for a salad, saute it as a side dish, or include it as part of a juice, I’m definitely a fan of spinach. Since being enthralled with a juice cleanse I did in January, I’ve begun juicing at home. My sweet mom bought me a juicer, and it’s extremely easy to use. Below are the ingredients for a simple and tasty juice (carrots, Granny Smith apples, and spinach).

Salads are so filling and nutritious – as long as you don’t add too much ‘bad’ stuff to it! I love putting grilled chicken (or steak) along with egg and sunflower seeds. So delicious and healthy.

I love salads, but make my own more often than I buy a bagged salad. That said, I DO enjoy the convenience of a bagged salad and do purchase them, especially when I’m running late for dinner. Fresh Express is my favorite!
